2009 Course Schedule

Travel

NFHTA is currently hosting classes at the Graduate School, USDA, located in the Capital Gallery Building at 600 Maryland Avenue, SW, Suite 260, Washington, DC  20024.  This site is conveniently located to Metro lines, the National Mall, Smithsonian museums, and restaurants.

Subway:
Called “The Metro” in the D.C. region.  For more information, visit their site www.wmata.com

The Capital Gallery Building can be found at the L’Enfant Plaza metro station on the Yellow, Green, Blue, and Orange lines.  Exit on the Maryland Avenue side, and the Capital Gallery Building entrance will be straight ahead.

Parking:
Public parking is available in the area and at the Capital Gallery Building.

How do I register for class?

Where can I check the class schedule?

Is there a set curriculum?
Yes. The initial program is a 5-week certification program designed to provide fair housing enforcement staff with knowledge and skills to conduct efficient and timely investigations throughout the country.
Are there plans to expand the curriculum?
Yes. Relevant courses will be developed in consultation with FHAP, HUD FHEO, and FHIP personnel initially. Other courses will be developed in conjunction with needs and requests.
Can the Academy customize courses for a particular group?
Yes. In the future, the Academy will work in a consultative capacity to develop courses, workshops and special seminars.
Accessibility
For those who need curb-to-curb service, call Metro Access at (301) 562-5360 or visit http://www.wmata.com/metroaccess/eligibility.cfm. Only riders who meet eligibility requirements will qualify for this service. Approvals are granted for 21 days per year. The cost is $2.50 each way and identification must be shown. Application process time is approximately three weeks. For an application, visit: http://www.wmata.com/metroaccess/access_form.cfm
